There are many reasons why you may not be able to keep your ball going perfectly down that oil and wood combination that drives us to the lanes every weekend and that's OK. No one's judging your bowling skills (except maybe your friends). We here at bowlingboy.com are always willing to help as much as we can and we don't even know you so how can we make fun of you? Well maybe we can imagine you sliding down the lane after forgetting to let go of the ball and getting our kicks from your misfortune but that's beside the point. Anyway, one great way to try something new, and this tip you will see us say often because it works. START OVER!!! Nothing recharges your game like starting back at square one. I know that after bowling for so long, you feel like you are too advanced to completely change your game but if what you were doing wasn't working anymore, then what do you have to lose?
When starting over, simply start with your feet on the middle dot, walk slowly on your approach and roll the ball as gently as you can, making sure to set it down, not throw it. And another thing, and this may be the hardest part, don't think about where your ball is going to go whether you are using a reactive ball or not, this method is for you to completely reset your game, pretend like you've never even seen this ball before in your life. Doing this you may feel (and look) like a complete idiot. You should do this when you're out by yourself. You'll still look like an idiot but at least only you see it.
